Re: Kegel exercises

I started them the morning after the surgery. Didn't hurt so I kept it up. But not very many.

Re: Kegel exercises

I was told at discharge from the hospital that I can resume them any time. Tried a couple, they hurt a bit, but I know how important they are so I'll continue to "ease" into them slowly!

Re: Kegel exercises

Science and docs have pretty much debunked kegels. I don't do them and my DH even after 4 vaginal births notices no difference.

Re: Kegel exercises

I would totally argue that point. I had bladder leakage issues for years, urologist put me through urodynamics testing and determined I had a weak pelvic floor. After only a couple of weeks of doing Kegels regularly, the leakage improved dramatically. I've kept them up and haven't had any leakage problems until my uterus began retaining blood after my ablation and was pushing on my bladder. I'm hoping that I can go back to not peeing my pants every time I sneeze again!

Maybe if you don't have issues with leakage, or if you have another issue causing your leakage, then Kegels don't help. But I'm a firm believer!
