Comment about headache - caffiene

3 days post op for LVTH with possible USO (think I got the terminilogy right). Headaches were horrible yesterday and this morning. Didn't realize that the painkiller could be causing the headaches, learned that here. But guess what else?

I'm a huge coffee drinker at work, and drink sodas at home on the weekend. Thinking about it, went and made myself a strong cup of tea - headache went right away.

I know we're supposed to keep the caffiene down to help with constipation, but if you're used to caffiene daily, that could be a cause for headaches if you're recently post op.

Just a thought.

Yes that could be the cause, I know It was for me, I went back to drinking my Diet Dew and my headaches went away, my bowel movements did not seem to be effected by it, as long as you are taking a stool softner you should be fine,
Hope you feel better soon

Yep, you are right. I have to have my coffee and soda!! I think hormones, or lack of, can cause headaches too.

Best of luck recovering. Two steps forward, one step back, but you will be feeling great before you know it!!

Yep, diet coke junkie here too. Gotta have my diet cokes or I'll have real bad headaches.

Another cause of my recent headaches was my new furnace (dry air) Plugged in the humidifier and set it on high about 3 hours ago and feeling MUCH better now.
