Almost 2 weeks post hysterectomy: Cramping & Spotting

I have had no cramping or spotting since my Davinci two weeks ago. Today it feels like that ugly feeling when a particularly bad period is coming on. Light spotting, a bit of pressure and pain and slight nausea.

Is this normal for two weeks out? My doctor said to expect some discharge after about 2-3 weeks and only to worry if there is bright red bleeding.

How do I know what is normal and what could be overdoing it? I did a couple loads of laundry yesterday and straightened up around the house. I did my regular walking and recumbent bike - per doctor approval. But I also put my feet up a lot yesterday.

Re: Almost 2 weeks.. Cramping & Spotting

I have my ovaries. My period would have started last Monday, right after my surgery.

Buttercup Some spotting is normal, but sometimes the cramping and spotting could be your body"s way of letting you know that you may be overdoing things. You are still early in recovery, so I would say go easy on yourself a little. If you click on Hysterectomy checkpoints at the top of the page, it will give you checkpoints where you can gage your recovery.
