Can you still have surgery if you have high blood pressure?

I have high blood pressure and take medication to control it. However, it's creeping back up (probably from the stress of the pending surgery). I was wondering if my pressure is still high, would they still proceed with surgery? Lately it's been stready around 148/90 or so.

My surgery is due to fibroids, cervical precancer and possible adenomyosis.

Call your Dr ASAP to ask about it. I too have high blood pressure and keep it controled with med. No one has said anything about not having it due to my bp. Your Dr may need to adjust your meds or have something else to help you out. But get in touch with them, blood pressure is not something to guess about or mess with. Just go straight to, as we say here, the horses mouth. A big to help you calm down. Your not alone in this thing.

It's not unheard of for hypertensives to have surgery. I'm one of them But, as always, talk to -your- doctor to see how sie feels.
