Pain before sugery still remains after surgery

I had a large mass removed that was on the bottom outside my uterus. It has smashed my bladder and pushed everything else to the right. I was having sharp stabbing pains on my right side before surgery however the pain still remains nearly 4 weeks past my surgery. It's nearly constant some days. I'm seeing my Dr again but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this?

They left my right ovary, the pain is on the right. He had thought the right ovary was being strangled from where the fibroid had pushed everything to the right but shouldn't the pain have eased up by now? I'm really frustrated. I don't want another problem that I have to deal with and I'm nervous the ovary they left might end up needing to be removed as well. I have lupus and antiphosphilipid antibodies and I'm not a candidate for HRT.

Thanks for any information.

Re: Pain before sugery still remains after surgery

Well, you might need some more healing time. I did not feel better until the 8th week. You had some big issues inside, so the more that the body had going on and work they do inside the longer it takes to heal. Hang in there rest and take care of yourself.

Re: Pain before sugery still remains after surgery

Thank You both for your replies. I'm hoping that it's just more time needed and nothing else. I'm trying to be patient but it's been months of this constant pain and it's really wearing me down.

Re: Pain before sugery still remains after surgery

Just like susieq, it took me 8 weeks to feel better. Remember, there is alot of stuff going on in there. It seems like @ the 8 wk. mark, a switch flipped & I felt normal. Hope the same goes for you!
