Fizzy Water good or bad??

At the moment all I seem to be able to drink is fizzy water I just can't get enough of it. The thing that worries me is that some of the ladies who have become princesses talk about gas after the op and Im concerned that the fizzy water will make it worse. Has anybody else gone through this?

Many thanks

I also love the fizzy water, I love the sparkling flavored waters, they are unsweetened and carbonated. (no artifical sweeteners or sugar) I will be interested in hearing responses to this as well since my surgery is tomorrow and they will be using the CO2 gas.

I was told by the nurses postop that carbonated beverages were okay in moderation, but DO NOT drink them through a straw. For some reason, this seems to make the gas problems worse. Also, be sure to get some Phazyme or Gas-X for post surgery. I used the Phazyme and it worked great for me.

Lynn

The nurses made sure I drank a carbonated beverage with each of my meals post op. It didn't seem to bother me. Mr Dr said it actually helps to "get things moving".

They offered me carbonated beverages at the castle in between meals, and I didn't have any problems. I did try to avoid them for a couple of days before the surgery, in hopes it would cut down on built-up gas. I didn't really have very much gas afterward.
