Newbie With Some Questions....

I had been scheduled for a LAVH, but my uterus was larger than anticipated (14 wk. size), so Dr. decided it was too risky to try the vaginal route. I knew there was a chance this would happen.

I had a D&C 3 months before hyster - didn't help me at all. I was told I probably wouldn't get a period for 6 wks. after D&C, but lo and behold, 2 weeks after the D&C my period started, heavy as ever. The next month was even worse - very heavy, and last 4 wks.!! After that, we just scheduled the surgery for 6 weeks later.

The abdominal isn't so bad - just the first week or so with the incision, then I would guess the recovery is about the same as the vaginal. It was a good 6 weeks before I felt good enough to go back to work. Before the surgery, I didn't see how I would need more than 3 weeks.
