A "happy" story about pre-op!:)

I went to my pre-op appointment on Thursday and the lady doing this was asking me all kinds of questions about pain and stuff and I was describing everything...she put down her pen and looked at me sweetly and said, " I am so sorry that you have been in so much pain." I almost teared up, because it was so sincere and so unexpected. I was a military spouse and eventhough, in total, the care was good...civillians treat you like royalty! Like I posted before...I cannot wait for Monday!

Glad that you had a positive experience at Pre-op. It does tend to make things easier to deal with when the surgery is so close.

My Pre-op was done thru the hospital. The nurse was very reassuring, and was extremely excited when she found out that we shared dr. She talked to me about her hysterectomy 5 years before and her experience with the dr during that time, as well as her gyn problems that led to surgery, and how her family helped. I wasn't expecting the nurse to be that open about her personal life, just expected to go in for interview, registration, and tests. But I came out of there with even more confidence in my dr and my decision for the surgery.

That's nice. I know that I feel better when I get good care too. It's great when the medical staff treats one with care and understanding.
