Upcoming hysterectomy 7/28: Period before surgery?

Hi everyone! This may be a silly question but does having your period stop surgery? Mine has been on and off for 7 weeks and counting. And it chooses 2 days before surgery to roar in. I think it wouldn't matter but I'm curious. If I waited until it stopped nothing would get done.

I was bleeding heavily right before surger, the doctor said it makes no difference. Good luck!

I was bleeding so heavily, I was wheeled in with a tampon and a super pad. I was told to remove the tampon, but I was bleeding so heavily I waited until right before I was put under. I wore an old pair of underwear that I didn't care about, and I told the nurse to cut them off me once I was out.

I'm sorry you had so much bleeding. Having panties cut off sounds like a plan. I'm guessing the nurses will tell me what I need to do. My last d&c I think they didn't put anything on me until post-op. I'm just so drained and my fibromyalgia on top of all this is making it worse all over.
