Catheter -- when do you get it???

My cathetar was put in after I was asleep. They removed it the next day and ended up putting in another one that evening because I hadn't voided. That hurt like hell, but it was a great relief to be rid of all the fluid. They removed it the next day and I was able to void on my own. Thank God!

They put mine in after I was asleep. Took it out the next day. Couldn't void so they put it back in during the afternoon so I could. It was a tad uncomfortable, but after that I was able to go on my own in a few hours. Nursing student told me to do "kegels" while I was trying to void and that really helped the urine to come out. I was so full I was ready to explode. Brenda
