Cancer, fibromyalgia, LAVH
I am so glad I found this forum! Two weeks ago I found out I have endometrial cancer but it has NOT spread to the lymph nodes. I am having a total LAVH this Wed., June 27th. I live 300 miles from all my relatives, I am divorced, no children. My aunt will drive down to be with me for several days then more family will come as I am recuperating. I am scared! I have 3 questions:
1. Will my obesity interfere greatly with the surgery?
2. Will my fibromyalgia interfere greatly with my recuperation?
3. Is the Milk of Magnesia and 2 stool softeners really enough bowel prep? (That is what I was told to do.)
Thank you!

and
I'm sorry to hear that you've been diagnosed with endometrial cancer and are facing a hysterectomy but glad you joined us. You will find a tremendous amount of information and support here!
I can't really answer your questions about obesity or fibromyalgia since I don't have a personal experience with either of them. Hopefully, someone around here will come along and share some insight.
As far as Milk of Magnesia and 2 stool softeners for your bowel prep, if that's what your doctor ordered, then that's what you should do. I didn't have to do a bowel prep before my surgery but I do know that it's very important that you follow your doctor's instructions and call him/her if you have any questions.
I hope you have a smooth surgery and recovery! Welcome again! We're glad you're here!

Cancer, fibromyalgia, LAVH
i just read your post, as I am resting under a castor oil pack on my fibroids waiting for my surgery day to come... I just wanted to share a fibromyalgia tid bit. If you have not already done so, and google the words fibromyalgia and mucinex, or guaifanesin.
I discovered that I had fibromyalgia and went to the drug store and bought mucinex, it is a cough expectorant found next to cough medications. I bought the 600 mg time release and took one, went to bed, woke up pain free in the morning! I continued taking it for about 2 months, and have just recently in the last two weeks stopped and still I am pain free.
You might consider this as an option, but read Dr Armand's information on his website google his name with it. You do need to avoid some things as they somehow block the mucinex from working. what it does is causes your body to release stored phosphorus, I believe, as a faulty metabolism of phosphorus seems to be at the seat of this, and causes a build up and things like joint pain and muscle aches, etc, you know them all/.
It may cause pain to make itself known to you as it breaks up the phosphorus that has built up in various places but then you will be feeling awesome. I realized once ALL my pain was gone, that I really was in serious pain mostly all over my body, and by the end of the day, all I wanted to do was to get out of the painful misery.
Something you might want to look into.
