Well I ended up with 22 questions to ask. I actually wanted to make sure I got them answered that I asked most of them before she had a chance to go over her stuff. Oops.. She was really patient thought and spent the time answering questions.
Found out that she is the most experience surgeon for DaVinci at the hospital I am at so I am confident that I am in good hands!
Main things were :
1. Bowel Prep - in my case with endometriosis, I will need to drink 1 6 oz of Magnesium Citrate. After I start it, I will be on liquid diet. (At least I can have a good breakfast before noon.
2. No test done today. Will only need blood work when I get to the castle.
3. They will probably need a pee test but I wanted to know how am I going to pee at 11:45 am when I have not had anything to drink after midnight. Any suggestions? LOL
4. Said abdominal binder was my preference and I could get one at hospital if I wanted.
5. Going to go on HRT patch and should have minimumal menpasual symptoms. (My mom was there with me and she said she had little symptoms so the dr said I might take after my mom) --fingers crossed.
6. I asked about flying restrictions and she said no issues at all.
She thinks that recovery will go smooth but if I need the full 6 weeks off, there shouldnt be a problem. Glad I dont have to rush back in 3-4 weeks. Sounds like she will let me stay off the 6...
Appt lasted about 45 minutes just from all my questions. She also gave me an ideawhere the incisions will be.
So glad it is over and it makes me feel so much better with my situation talked over with my doctor. Know what to expect and now just1 more week of waiting, shopping, packing and mediating...
110% confident I have made the right choice on having it and with the dr that is doing it.
My pre-op was today and I was armed with all my questions!!
