Can feel pulling in my tummy ~ bladder sling?

I had a tummy cut hysterectomy but kept my cervix and ovaries, pelvic floor fixed up for prolapse, and bladder fixed up 3 1/2 weeks ago. I am very pleased with how well I am recovering up till now. My bowels and bladder are working great, etc. I do still have problem with swelly belly in the evenings.

I have been taking things very easy. No heavy lifting whatsoever..son washes the dishes and takes care of the laundry, etc. Today I feel when I lean to the side as if I can feel exactly where the points that the sling in there is stitched to my stomach inside! It kinda pinches me at different places on my tummy!

Have any of you had this feeling before?

Thanks!
Tina

It's great to hear your recovery has been going well so far!

I didn't have a sling and so can't comment on what that may feel like, but there are many ladies here who have and I hope they'll be along soon to share.

It's probably best that you contact your doctor, however ~ just to be on the safe side.

Sending all good wishes!

Can feel pulling in my tummy ~ bladder sling?

I remembered to take my thyroid medicine today that I had forgotten these last two days and feel so much better. I was beginning to feel like I had overdone things or something!

Can feel pulling in my tummy ~ bladder sling?

Hi Tina
I had a sling and didn't really feel anything like what you're describing. I know I had aches and pains, but nothing I directly related to the bladder sling. Since you're feeling these specific places you should ask your dr what you could be feelng there. I have seen where sometimes drs have told members that something was attached right where they were feeling discomfort, so you could be right.

It sounds like you're being smart and being careful with what you do, so probably haven't done anything to cause a problem. I'm glad to hear your thyroid meds helped you feel better. Tiredness is common during recovery though. Hopefully you won't have problems with that.

You could try some heat on the painful places to see if it helps. I hope you continue to do well. Keep us posted on your progress.
