LAVH on 3/25. Surgery lasted almost four hours. About twice as long as expected. Removed uterus (13cm), fibroids (5 slightly larger than golf ball), Fallopian tubes (2) - surprise! and right ovary - surprise!
Fallopian tubes and right ovary were basically dead, diseased and enlarged. Wrapped around my bowels and bladder. Crazy thing is, I never felt bad except for heavy bleeding.
So glad I had this surgery.
My doc was terrific, nurses were beyond awesome, hospital care fantastic. I went in at 10 am Tuesday, home by 2:30 pm on Wednesday, although I could have stayed longer.
Please take your stool softeners, I didn't take enough and had horrible pain. Better today, but had to take a laxative. Incisions are minimally uncomfortable, nothing too terrible. Absolutely no post op bleeding. I'm off pain killers, and just taking ibuprofen. Stay hydrated, I can't drink enough water. I have no appetite, so hoping to lose a little weight. 😜😜😜.
Anyone out there wondering if this is the right thing to do...I say yes! I already feel a million times better, and now that I know what was in there, I am doubly grateful to have had it done.
Good luck!
