LSH/LSO scheduled

Well ladies, I have finally made the decision to schedule my surgery for March 12. For those who don't know anything about me here goes...

I am a 35 year old with pelvic congestion and likely adhesions, as well as a slightly enlarged uterus and cyst problems on my left ovary, as well has extremely heavy painful periods. I have tried birth control, only to end up with dibilitating migraines.

I am going with a laproscopic supracervial hysterectomy, removing my uterus and left ovary (leaving the cervix).

I have had 2 C/S, so a vaginal hysterectomy was not an option, and a total abdominal meant too much downtime/recovery time. I am hoping the LSH will result in less down time for me. I know there is no guarantee, but I am going to give it a go!

Tell me more about belly pillows....

Some people find that they don't need a belly pillow. But it is good to have one to hold on to when you sneeze or cough. It is also good to have one between your belly and the seat belt when you are in the car. I just bought a little squishy pillow that is only about 12 to 18 inches long. I was glad that I had it.

Hi Ibud,

I also had a LSH. It is still one of the best things I ever did for my long term gyneo health. Good luck with your surgery.

i had an lsh also and i'm so glad i was able to have this type of surgery. i was certain i wanted to keep my healthy ovaries and cervix and the recovery was very easy for me.
you might not need a body pillow if you have an lsh. sometimes when you lay on your side right after surgery, a pillow feels good against your belly, but you probably wouldnt use it long.
good luck
