Acne Anyone?

Ok, here's one for you. I had a TAH on 2/1 but kept my ovaries. Beginning about 2 weeks afterward, and continuing on and off since then, I've been breaking out like a teenager. LOL. I'm guessing it's because my ovaries are kicking in again and sending hormones through my body, but this is ridiculous. Has anyone else dealt with this? If so, and if you kept your ovaries, what did you do for it? I've tried pretty much everything available over the counter - and no luck. For the last 25 years, I've been able to rely on my birth control pills (needed to control my endo since the age of 13) to prevent acne. Now that I'm not on BC pills anymore, I'm not sure what to use or if the hormones will settle down and I should just wait it out.

Thanks for any advice you have.

Acne Anyone?

Yep, I had acne but it didn't last long ~ about 4-6 weeks, I think. It disappeared as quickly as it arrived, thank goodness!

There have been some similar threads ~ you could try a forum search if you'd like to read up on more experiences.

So, hang in there ~ it will eventually disappear.

Acne Anyone?

You poor thing I know exactly how you feel. I had big red painful lumps all along my jaw line 2 weeks post op. Im now 4 weeks and they have settled down but have left scars. I bought a range from australian body care and it has really helped keep mine under control....good luck x x x

Acne Anyone?

yup me too. I noticed that I now am having some break outs. I have this big ol' guy on my jawline also. and I dont like it. I'm 39....I thought I was over it. I guess just one of the side effects that goes with the whole process. I can say that even though you can see it, and its not that pretty...its better than bleeding for months at a times. I think I can deal with it!! Have a healthy recovery!!!

Acne Anyone?

I kept my ovaries and had some acne before and have a few right now. I am planning on getting the pro-active you see advertised on TV. I had tried it a couple of years ago and it worked great. The only thing is that it can dry out your skin but I will tell you my dh and friends noticed a difference in my skin. Take care.
