6 days post op hysterectomy and super emotional

I am 6 days post op and woke this morning feeling physically better than I have since surgery. My emotions, however, are all over the place. I am on HRT - estrogen patch and have not experienced any physical signs of menopause. I cried almost all day today.

I do not have any children and have known for 15 years that I would likely be unable to have any of my own. But having a hysterectomy, I feel so empty. My boyfriend of 3 years packed up all of my belongings while I was out of town in March and informed me I would be moving out of his house. Our physical relationship was definitely impacted by the severity of my endo hyperplasia, as I bled almost everyday for 2 years. I was always tired and unmotivated due to anemia and required several blood transfusions. I guess it was all too much for him to handle. Hell, I would have broken up with me if I could!

I guess I am here seeking support.

Hugs!! Step one, surgery itself, is over. Now the hard part, healing. I am very much a believer it is ok to cry and to have a bad day once in a while, and you have been thru a lot!! Rest all you can, and look forward to the new life just a matter of weeks down the road. If the emotions stay a mess talk to your doc. You deserve the help!

Sound like a really rough time, so sorry! The surgery itself is hard enough, but to have your love depart before that is even worse. Hope you are feeling better by now, HUGE hugs!!!
