Surgery moved up!!!!

Even though I was put into a chemical menapause before my surgery, I went to the DR yesterday with PELVIC PAIN with what I suspected was an ovarian cyst. At the appt my DR did the examination and agreed. I indeed have a cyst. He moved my surgery from 9/12/08 to 8/29/08. He was trying to get me in even sooner, but he wanted to do it on a weekend that he would be on call at the hospital. (I have a very severe case of endo, and all my organs are stuck together, there are alot of unexpected, like bladder repair, intestinal repair, etc.) The funny thing is, just when I though I wasnt scared anymore, and had a sense of peace about the whole thing. When the scheduling nurse was giving me directions, I completly spaced out. I kept telling myself, what the heck am I doing in here, get up and RUN, RUN RUN as fast as you can. LOL! I just hate waiting I have had five or six, (lost count) other surgery's and I know once you get to the other side you are like, oh well that wasnt bad at all. LOL! The thing is I have to hae this, it isnt elective for me anymore, they believe I have a perforated intestine from my endo, so its not an option. Guess I will leave my running shoes at home that day.

A few questions before I go:
1)Do I need to get hi cut, or brief underwear or does it even matter? I am having a bikini insicion.
2)Can I take my laptop to the hospital for my DH?
3)Do I pay my copay to the hospital at my pre-reg or is it billed? my surgery's in the past have always been billed, but they have always been outpatient, this one is inpatient.
4) This one is a little off the wall but, me and my DH were planning to get our kids (7 and 4) a cat this week, should I postpone this? In the past I have had allergic reactions to cats, but we were scheduled to sit and visit with the cat several times before taking her home. But I dont want to be sick before surgery or neglect the cat while I recuperate. (I have tons of help, DH is taking two weeks off of work, my mom, MIL, aunt, dad, and grandmother, all live within a mile, and none work, so they are taking care of this princess, but I dont want to add one more thing to their list if the cat isnt adjusted by then. They already have to help with taking kids back and forth to school, karate, ballet, tap, gymnastics, singing and voice, etc. (yes, my kids are overscheduled, but they have so much talent!) Actually our whole lives are scheduled to the tee, lol, I have OCD can you tell? LOL!

Thanks For all your help! All your suggestions are wonderful, and even if you have to be harsh, I want to know all your experiences, suggestions etc!

BACKGROUND,
I will be having a TAH/BSO with a mini TT and remol of endo
Possibly some bowel and or intestinal repairs
I am 25 years old, yes 25. I had to get a fast start on the babies, since I knew I would have a small window to conceive. I get married in a hurry on 2/14/00 at age 17!

Delivery of Son, Natural, 2000 at age 18! (happiest day of my life)
1st Lap/DNC 2001 to remove endo and stop heavy periods (found sever endo, instentines stuck together to other organs, and ovarian cyst)
DNC 2001 miscarriage
2nd Lap in 2003 found severe endo with same symptoms as fist lap, had nerves cut off to relieve some pain and had endo removed to attempt pregnancy.
Delivery of daughter, 2003, at age 21! (very scary day, A girl? GOD must have a great sense of humor!) I dont know what to do with a girl? I always pictured myself with a million boys!
Tubal ligation, 2004, This princess doesnt want anymore girls! (BTW, my DR wouldnt do the hysterectomy then because I was only 21 even though I still needed it, so he suggested a tubal instead, not that I see an endo specialist, he told me that having a tubal is the worst thing you can do when you have endo!) Girls, get an endo specialist if you have endo! Because he is right, everything got worse after this, my periods became shorter, but my pain was worse, and my cyst were every month instead of sometimes)
and now 08/29/08 TAH/BSO! I finally got a great DR who looked past my age, and said, How would anyone expect you to go another 25-30 years, with this kind of mess going on inside you, not just the pain, but the damage the endo is causing to your intestines, and other organs. This day will be the first day of the rest of my life, without pain, periods, and moddiness. This day, I will know what it is like to be normal.

A few questions before I go:
1)Do I need to get hi cut, or brief underwear or does it even matter? I am having a bikini insicion.

((Getting some cotton under in either cut is fine. You will want to make sure you don't pay alot as you can get a variety of things on them. Having Gauze pads will help with any oozing you may have:-))

2)Can I take my laptop to the hospital for my DH?
3)Do I pay my copay to the hospital at my pre-reg or is it billed? my surgery's in the past have always been billed, but they have always been outpatient, this one is inpatient.

((Take the laptop for DH, he will be bored when you are sleeping. As for insurance I believe most will bill you. They have to make sure they have ever bit together before they know what you will owe.))

4) This one is a little off the wall but, me and my DH were planning to get our kids (7 and 4) a cat this week, should I postpone this? In the past I have had allergic reactions to cats, but we were scheduled to sit and visit with the cat several times before taking her home.

(( I would wait on the cat until you are home. You won't be feeling yourself and will be annoyed at the smells in your house cat or no cat. If you have no choice than to take the cat do what is best for your family. I personally would wait a week before bringing in an animal. We pet sit for my neighbors dog and I had to bend quickly to keep him from running out when I answered the door *ouch*. You do have better help, so either way you will be ok.))
