I am a mess!!!!!!!!

Hi!

I am a mess!! I'm cramping so bad!!!!!!!!!!!! No blood yet but I know it will be coming, anyday now the floodgates will open.
And if that wasn't enough, yesterday I noticed the roof of my mouth was sore ( like from eating to much hard candy or something). I figured something I ate must of irritated it or something. Well, today it is even more sore and my gums above my front teeth are all swollen and even my teeth ache!!! I've never had it like that before! I bought some Listerine today, I'm hoping that will help, of course it'll burn like you know what, but if it helps. But that's not all!! I also have an extremely bad toothache on one of my bottom teeth!!!!!! Between that and the cramps I've taken so much ibuprofen today that my stomach is upset and now I have diarrea (sp)!!!! Sorry if that is too much info!! So i guess tomorrow I'll start searching the yellow pages for the dentist who can get me in the fastest!!! There is no way, NO WAY I'm gonna let this interfere with my hyster!!!

Well, thanks for listening!!

Hang in there

Hope you find a dentist quick that will help your mouth. Meanwhile you can try some baby teething gel that might help with some of the pain. You are on the home stretch with waiting for your surgery. Take care

I am a mess!!!!!!!!

Hi Julie

You poor thing, you really are in a bad way.

Your first stop is definitely the dentist. He can have a look at the roof of your mouth while he's looking at your bottom tooth. You might find it's all connected.

I really hope things settle down for you very soon.

I am a mess!!!!!!!!

I am sorry to hear you are feeling so bad!

Hope you find someone that will help you fast. I know all to well lately how bad a tooth ache can make you feel so yucky all over despite the pelvic things that are going on.

Feel better soon. Keep us posted on how you are doing when you are up to it.

Had To Reply To You

JMJH,

I hope you are feeling better. Whenever I have pain in my teeth it usually is connected to my sinuses. Have you ever had sinus problems?? It usually is a sinus infection. If a dentist hasn't taken an x-ray of the area, please make sure they do. After the 1st 2 times I know that is the problem. My first dentist thought it was a root canal and sent me to a specialist and they found it is a very nasty sinus infection. In fact, I am going to call the dr. today because of the nasty weather we am having and that same tinny taste in my mouth and fluid in my ears. I unfortunately after my surgery 10 weeks ago will probably get a yeast infection if they put me back on antibiotics which is why I am avoiding the dr. Please check this out ASAP otherwise if there is an infection and they don't find it, they will cancel surgery.

Thank you all!!

Hi all!

Thanks for your replies. I'm feeling much better today. The roof of my mouth is still a little tender but my teeth no longer hurt (guess the listerine helped). Maybe it was just something I ate. I really don't know. The toothache, which I know was just that, doesn't even hurt. Being the dentist hater that I am I think that I have now talked myself out of going. Only problem with that is i know all to well that the toothache will eventually return, with a vengeance. So now I'm faced with sticking my head in the sand and pretending all is ok, or being an adult about it and having it checked out anyway. I just hate going to the dentist so much!!! However, am sure I would hate even more having to go early in my recovery! I guess I'm torn between knowing what I should do, and actually doing it!!

amysterttup,

Hi! Thanks so much for your reply and concern. Actually, I have had that happen to me before and had not even thought of that possibility! However, I really don't think that is the case this time but still is something I will keep a very close eye on. I don't know. Usually with my sinuses my face in general hurts, including my jaw and teeth and that is just not going on right now. My cheecks don't hurt or anything, just the roof of my mouth. But again thank you for your suggestion and concern, as I said that has happened in the past and that thought had not even occurred to me so now that you reminded me though I will definately keep that in mind and if it is not better in a day or two will definately have it checked out before the end of this week anyway.

I am a mess!!!!!!!!

Hi Julie

Even though your tooth is feeling better right now, I'd still go have it looked at now rather than after surgery. After surgery you won't feel up to going anywhere for awhile. Please give the dentist a call and see if they can get you in (explain about your upcoming surgery and I bet they will give you an appointment.)

I know I don't like dentists either. I have had to have so much work done that, now, I just will put it off forever till it's really bad. Don't do like I do, it hurts longer in the long run

Sending you a big

Patty

I agree!

You really need to go to the Dentist. I had a toothache a few months ago and it only lasted for a few days and then it just went away. Well, about two weeks later, it came back! Worse then ever! I finally went to the Dentist after a few nights of no sleep because of the pain.....I had to have a root canal.

It really wasn't bad at all. Everyone I had talked to acted as though that is the worst thing in the world to have done....it was a piece of cake! However, you do have to take antibiotics (for 2 wks) and pain medication for a few days.

I hope your tooth is fine...but until you go to the Dentist, you won't know for sure. If your tooth is in need of repair.....you do not want to go through that after your surgery! I don't know about you...but tooth pain is the worst for me! I can handle almost anything but that.

So, go to the Dentist and get that taken care of now! Before it causes more problems!

Good luck!!!

Thank you!

Thank you both for your care and concern. I did get an appointment this afternoon. As much as I wanted to put it off and forget about it, my tooth has started to ache again. I have and always have had very bad teeth. Right now I need so much work done it just overwhelmes me emotionally and financially. But, I have decided to take it one step at a time and at least get the one that hurts taken care of and will worry about the rest after. Like they say, one day at a time, well, I'll just have to take it one tooth at a time! I do have dental insurance but I need 3 crowns, (broken teeth in the back) and my insurance only pays 1/2 and every dentist I've talked to wants my 1/2 up front before they'll even start which has been quoted at $400. And quite frankly I just don't have $400!! And that is only for 1 crown!!!

I'm not really afraid of the dentist, I just hate it! It has never been a good experience for me ever. Every time I go there's always something!! By the time I get everything fixed and go again there's something else!! It's just never ending and quite overwhelming!!! Not to mention expensive!!! Guess I should have married a dentist!! I've had 5 root canals, 2 crowns, numerous fillings and extractions! My husband keeps telling me I should just have them all pulled. And I don't know maybe I am fighting a losing battle but I would like to keep what few teeth I have left, which are the front ones basically!! I do have 1 molar left on each side, top and bottom. I always tell my husband, they may not work very well but they sure do look good, Thanks to the thousands my parents spent on orthodontics! I just have to be careful what i eat. Nothing to hard. Well, now I have gone on and on! I'm sorry about that! Like I said this is just overwhelming to me normally, not to mention everything else I've got on my mind right now!!! Thanks again!! I'll let you know what the dentist says. I'm gonna ask him about the roof of my mouth too, which is still sore.

well, really, thank you thank you thank you!!!

RE: I am a mess!

Hi and Thank you to all who replied to my desperate cries!

I did go to the dentist and now am more confused than ever!! This dentist said he could find nothing wrong with my teeth or gums, they all looked fine, with the exception of the two that are broken that my last dentist wanted to crown, he said there wasn't enough left of one to crown and the other was just a small chip off a corner of a back tooth and it looked really clean that if it wasn't bothering me he wouldn't do anything to it. So I guess that's good right. I'm sorry I know this is a little, or alot off the subject of our histor's but I'm wondering what if anything I should do now before my surgery on the 16th.

He did say that my change in meds, I went off Nortriptyline and started Lexapro last week, could be what is causing the pain, or it could be my Fibromyalgia. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this or even heard of it being from one of those. Again, I'm sorry. I know this has nothing to do with our hyster's but now I'm worrying about it and what I should do, if anything.

Thanks to anyone who has any advice, comments or suggestions, or even just there own stories for me. I would really appreciate hearing from you.
