LAVH Is squatting ok after hysterectomy?

I know we're not supposed to bend over, or pick up heaving stuff, but what about squatting down to pick stuff up?

I am not sure, I catch myself bending and picking up a piece of ice or towel. I bend my knees but I always forget . That is one thing that I just can't stop. I think I am on auto- pilot a little.
Do what doesn't hurt you. If it pulls, don't do it.

I was advised to avoid squatting for ever! It apparently puts too much pressure n the pelvic floor.

Depends on how you define "squat." Do *not* squat so deeply that your butt goes below the level of your knees. If you keep your back straight and your butt above knee level, you should be okay - at least I was! :-) I live alone and did this for the first few weeks instead of bending.

I found that for me gently squatting was the only way that I could pick up things that I dropped on the floor, etc. Bending that far forward wasn't comfortable for me at first. Standing up from the squat was a little challenging for the first week or two. Just try to have something nearby like a counter or chair to hold on to and help you back up.

I was not restricted from bending or squatting, check with your dr to be sure, but I had no problem doing either.

I squatted but the one time early on I bent over out of habit, I felt the vaginal pull. I still can feel it some even 3 months later but not painful like it was that earlier time.

Please don't squat I squatted to put air in my tires because I was tired of leaning over and my spotting and pain increase for a few days. Try to avoid it by any means

If you need to pick something up, you should get a grabber. It does more than grabbing, it will be your best friend.
