5 weeks post hysterectomy...excersise??? 5 weeks post hysterectomy...excersise???

5 weeks post hysterectomy...excersise???

Hi....its 5 weeks.post op now...had LAVH...uterus cervix n 1 ovary removed.....recovery seems fine..

Can i start off with walking or some mild form.of excersise???

walking is important in recovery, I was told to walk right from the first day. I was released for all other exercise at 6 weeks, so you might want to check with your dr about that. Good luck!

Thanks coughy16 ...

Ive been walking right from day 2..doing all the normal chores at home..what i was referring to was brisk walking as a form of excersise on the walking track..say for about an hour a day..is this ok????

Oh, I see! You might want to ask your dr, do you have a 6 week post op? At six weeks I was released to do any type of exercise. I walked at a decent pace before that, but not really fast.

Check with your doc. Mine told me at four weeks that I was okay to run, swim and cycle. I just couldn't lift more than 30 lbs or do abdominal exercise.

As for starting at an hour a day, listen to your body. You might find that you need to start with a shorter period and build up.
