TAH: Had my EKG Today TAH is on Monday...Debating on Enima or Not??

As for the shots in the Belly, I have a really bad fear of needles because when I was a child I actually broke one in my bottom due to flenching and I have been scared to death of them ever sense!! I heard the needles are very tiny for that and giving blood samples doesn't bother me because the needles are so small so I hope they are that small otherwise I am in trouble

As for the EKG my Dr that is doing the actual operation did NOT order an EKG but after I spoke to the Anesthesiologist and told her about all of the Heart failure in my family and my dad died from it not too mention my Cholesterol is very high the Anesthesiologist thought it would be a good idea to have one done, I wouldn't have the surgery if they wouldn't do an EKG since it has been 14yrs and I was alot younger then.

I had a bowel prep before surgery and really was quite miserable. The biggest benefit was I didn't have to "go" #2 for an entire week. The other benefit was I lost six pounds from my intestines. A simple enema would be perfect to help get things empty and hopefully will push that gas right on through. After surgery you may be on powerful pain meds that will slow or can even stop your bowels from moving. I strongly suggest you look into stool softeners and adding fiber to you food post-op. I am eight weeks post-op and still ate three prunes with my breakfast this morning.

Do it! My morning of surgery was the day before my period when I generally don't poop. The hormones change and I bleed and I poop. Well, I went into surgery having to poop and then a week later I still had to. I finally did an enema and it worked fine but what a week!! Miralax, stool softeners, correctol
