Washed out at 3 weeks

Hi all
is it normal to be washed out at 3 weeks after the surgery? I am so tired. My wound also feels tight and when I pee I feel like I can feel my bladder draining every centimetre. Is this normal?

Hi, I'm two weeks post-op and still have a sensitive bladder too. I am also a bit concerned as well- I went and got a test to make sure I don't have a bladder infection. Perhaps you should consider doing so as well. I know it is also very normal for the incision to feel tight. It's the different levels of scar tissue and muscle and ligament repairing. I've started very gently massaging it, but I don't know if a doctor would recommend that or not. I've also heard that if it remains really tight months after surgery you can go to a physiotherapist to help loosen it up with pressure point release, stretches, etc. Keep up the good healing work! :-)

I have the same. I just rub and shift the rolls of belly that I have and lay down. For me it is my "you have done enough" meter

Re: Washed out at 3 weeks

Hi again! Regarding my previous post about getting a bladder pee test- I just got a call back from my doctor and I do indeed have a urinary tract infection. Back on the Antibiotics I go. So I do recommend checking the bladder for infection. If you DO have an infection, be sure to get a really good PRO biotic to counter the ANTI biotic or you may end up with a yeast infection as many do get after antibiotics, (including me). I just found out about a really good one that I hope works for me, and it is called Florastore.

Re: Washed out at 3 weeks

Yeah week 3 was a little harder and felt pretty tired. You will find you have days you feel really good and other days pretty tired. Rest often and when your body asks for it. Even in the coming weeks you will find you get tired pretty easy, but it is all normal with our bodies recovering & all.

I just had my 6 week post-op last Thursday and my doctor said I can still expect to feel pretty tired once I start increasing my activities/exercise.

It does get better though. You will find you won't have to rest as long or as often the further out you go.

Re: Washed out at 3 weeks

I'm close to week three but suffer terrible insomnia so would expect to be tired but I'm not. Still have the burning pain of ligaments & muscle healing so I am not active at all. Supposed to be going back to work in four weeks. Hoping for improvement by then. Love this site. It is my saviour.

Are you sure he didn't mean down right exhausted and running on fumes?

I am 6 weeks and this week, not so much resumed normal activities I'm still only doing light duties but a normal lifestyle, fully busy days on both monday and Tuesday, i can barely keep awake today and it's only 11 am lol!!

Mrsdeb, listen to your body, if it tells you you're tired, don't feel bad for resting. And don't hesitate to contact your doctor if you don't feel"right" well as right as you would expect under the circumstances

Re: Washed out at 3 weeks

I found a huge difference from week 3 to week 4, i was amazed at the difference just a week could make.
