Getting Ready for the castle!!

Hey Princesses in Training!!!

Only four more days to go for me! I've been waiting since the end of December. I chose to do this after my anniversary, (which is Monday), so that my DH and I could enjoy it.
Today...I took some time for me. Manicure, pedicure, and massage. Only costs me $45! I wouldn't normally do that, but I needed something to make me feel a little more feminine before my trip to the castle. Then I went to Walmart and picked up the fun stuff. Doing bowel prep on Tuesday with only clear liquids and food. (Jello, broth, popsicles). I also got stuff for after surgery...gas-x, stool softener, granny panties, LOL!, new pj's, slippers, pads, looser pants to wear out of the hospital, other necessities. And then tons of food to cook up and freeze so that my family won't have to rely on me cooking. (I'll be doing all of that tomorrow). I'm trying not to feel guilty for going through with this surgery. My family relies on me, but I know I desperately need this to be able to live a better life.
OMG, can you tell I'm getting excited? LOL!!!

Re: Getting Ready for the castle!!

You sound like you are ready to go!!! That is awesome!! I wish that I had cooked more meals ahead of time. I didnt realize that cooking at the end of the day would take so much out of me. It's also great that you did some pampering for yourself. I wanted to get a pedi before my surgery and just ran out of time. My surgery was on the 25th and I still havent had the opportunity... but I plan to change that next week!

You should never feel guilty about doing something to improve your health. The family may have to function without you for a bit, but they will also benefit from it in the long run. I dont regret doing it, only that I waited so long before I did!

Happy healing to you!!!!!!!

Re: Getting Ready for the castle!!

Thank you, Complex and BMuffins!
Complex...I don't normally do stuff for me, but this particular surgery has me thinking about me for once.

BMuffins....I have been waiting since the end of Dec. and yes, it feels like it's never gonna get here. But, you fill your days up with lots of good things and get your house in order....and then, the time flies! Looking forward to talking with all our princesses and princesses in training!!!

Re: Getting Ready for the castle!!

Yes, pls don't feel guilty for taking care of yourself. Besides if you didn't take care of yourself, you would not be in a position to care for your family and friends. You just make sure you pamper yourself and I am sure your family will all pitch in as well. Best wishes!

Re: Getting Ready for the castle!!

Thank you, Ladies!

Yes, I am very anxious and very excited at the same time. Tonite my DH and I went to dinner and a movie for our anniversary, which is tomorrow. I'm still finishing up laundry and moving our bedroom around. But DH bought a couple TV trays to set up next to our bed and our couch, so that I won't have to stretch to get things. I was kind of amazed that he thought of it. LOL!!!
So...now I'm just relaxing and reading up on all our princesses in training to see how everyone is fairing. Some have a short time to wait, and some not so short, but know this, you are not alone. We are all here to help each other through this waiting game, and then through recovery. And no question is a dumb question. So if you have any questions at all, please ask. There will be at least a few women here who can answer your questions.

Princess Hugs to all!!!
