Need a little help tonight. Fever & back pain at 1 1/2 wks post op

Hello ladies out there with me tonight. I'm a week and a half post op. I've been doing so well for the past three days, hardly needing any pain meds at all. Today I woke up with an intense lower back ache. It stuck around all day, percocet didn't really do much for me. At 8 tonight I took Lortab and Naproxen. I had been feeling chilly for a few hours already. At about 8:30 I was FREEZING cold. I got under two blankets, a quilt and a fleece blanket. Girls, I live in Georgia and its August. Something ain't right. Anyhow, my whole body was shivering and I my teeth were chattering. I know the fever drill so I stayed under the blankets until I was sweating, to break the fever. That took a while, but it finally happened. Now I'm not cold anymore but my skin is very hot all over. The fever maxed out at 99.6. Any ideas? Should I be concerned about this? I have no nausea or vomiting. I don't have any pain with urination but there is a little pressure, like when the bladder empties it feels like the muscles around my incision are just moving with the emptying (I hope that makes sense). I've been taking very few pain meds since Friday, mostly just one in the morning and one at bedtime. Whats going on with me? Should I call my doctor? Help... and thanks.

When in doubt, call the doc! Especially with a temp so soon after surgery.

I'd say call the doctor. It certainly can't hurt to make the phone call, especially with symptoms that came on so suddenly.

Good luck! Hope you feel better!
