Pain when bending

I am 9 days post laproscopic supracervical hysterectomy and I've been feeling well, but I notice the more I do the more my abdomen swells. Also today a new symptom is that my stomach (directly under my belly button incision) feels like it's tearing when I bend forward..anyone else get this?

Re: Pain when bending

Yes, I had a very similar experience at about 3 weeks post op. I actually went back to the doctor it started to hurt so much. He checked me out and told me I was overdoing things and to rest more.

So take it easy! It had mostly gone away by about 4 1/2 weeks out or so.

Re: Pain when bending

We call abdomen swelling "swelly belly" and you'll see many, if not most of us, writing about it at some point. You symptoms, "when I do more" are exactly what we are seeing. Take it easy, especially in the first 4-6 weeks. It doesn't really matter which type of surgery you had, though TAH ladies generally have it more.

As for the tearing sensation...my daddy would say, "don't bend that way!" Seriously, being only 9 days post op, you could do damage if you continue. You have internal stitches that could tear.

Pamper the princess. You only have one chance to heal correctly.

Re: Pain when bending

I had the pain in the same spot for about 5 weeks. Even now, just about 7 weeks after surgery, if I over do it I will feel a slight pinching feeling. My stomach swelled when I did too much until about a week ago. Take it easy and use this time to rest. I also had an LSH and finally felt good about week 3.
