I think all those slogans are invented by men who have no idea what a period feels like.
Nothing against guys but I once saw something about all women's problems start with "men" like men-struation, "men"-o-pause(LOL) "men"-tal illness etc etc..can't remember the others.

dysMENorrhea, MENses, MANic, MENarche,.and mammogram should have been dubbed the MANogram since it was probably someone of the male persuation that would think that compressing the boob into a pancake would be a good thing for a woman to go through!

I've been getting annual mammograms for the last 12 years or so, and while I find them a bit uncomfortable, I don't find them painful. The discomfort lasts only for a couple of seconds and the benefits of this procedure are worth it. I would much rather be uncomfortable for a few seconds each year than suffer the agony of breast cancer.

Hi there Jillington'

A "wombwake" - I love it!! That's made my day. All I've done so far to celebrate getting rid of these troublesome organs is to donate all my old pads etc. to my nearest sister in line - she turns 50 this year, but still hasn't gone through menopause. "My goodness!" she exclaimed. " These will last me forevery!!"

My youngest sister in only 38, and I think she uses jumbo ones anyway!! I was always a 2 and 1/2 day girl and never ever had any problems with heavy bleeding etc.

The other thing I have been doing for that past couple of years, since starting menopausal symptoms (and before my hysterectomy) has been sneering at the feminine hygiene products in the supermarket whenever I went past them. I did this far too loudly one day (in fact very soon after I was scheduled for my hysterectomy a couple of months ago) and an old man heard me, and turned around and gave me a very peculiar look. I'd gladly give the pads, tampons and things a rude sign, but this would no doubt be picked up on the close-circuit camera in the supermarket, so have desisted so far!!!

Thanks for making me laugh!!!

Cheers and best wishes
Debby

I hope I don't have any bleeding before my surgery, because I swear I'll just reach in there and grab the offending organs and rip them out myself! ********.

I do have to buy more tampons though after the surgery--for our decorating contest at my womb wake. I can only imagine the things my friends will come up with.

We're all nuts, and it's an open invitation for you all to come along for the ride![/QUOTE]

Gotta love the "womb wake" idea!!!

I can't make it out to Cali for the party, but would love to see pics. That is if I can find the albums here, still learning my way around

One of the benefits of upgrading to Crown Jewel status is a photo gallery, as well as a journal. You can tell whether or not a member has photos in her photo gallery by clicking her username and clicking "My Photos".

oh duh...i found it...the old "if it was a snake it would have bitten me' syndrome...it's called Photos, and it's under "Support".

not clear if you have to be a crown jewel, or not, to add to it, but anyone can view it

OK so the "happy period" thing got me thinking about an email a friend of mine sent to me. She knows how much I love (gag, gag) my visit from my least favourite aunt so she sent this along. I hope you all enjoy it. I'm feeling the effects of my last visit before surgery however I think I'll be one of the lucky ones who continues to have visits as I'm keeping my cervix and I'm always the one who falls into that itty bitty percentage.
Anyway, follow the link and enjoy the email
