went home with catheter.....knicked my bladder during surgery

hi had surgery on Jan 14 and was sent home following day with catheter for a week. Doctor said during surgery my bladder was cut and had to be stitched. Anyone else had this happen......I'm not a happy camper

Yes it has happend to others me being one, the cath is a pain but it will keep the pressure off your bladder so it can heal I ended up haveing to keep it in for 4 weeks wasn't overly happy but dr explained it that we want to give it the best chance to heal without needing to go back inside to repair again if it comes back open all in all when the cath came out I have had no problems, just beware that bladder and uti infections are very common while the cath is in so if you start to feel it get to the dr

I also had that happen. My surgeon cut bladder and stitched itduring hysterectomy. Mine was in for two weeks, they did a dye test to make sure no leaks. I have been having reoccuring uti's. On my third round of antibiotics...ugh
