timing of surgery critical?

Do you have to be between cycles to have the surgery, or can they do it while you're menstrating? My cycle is currently so out of control that I cannot predict for them when I WON'T have it. I've been diagnosed with multiple fibroids and a cyst on my left ovary. I'm seeing the doc tomorrow (Monday) for a face to face consultation on where we go next. I'm predicting she'll suggest a hyst., at this point.

I've also been told I have a large cyst in my left breast and a few smaller ones in my right, so I'm scheduled to speak to a surgeon in a week concerning those.

What a month it's been!

Don't worry about when you have your period affecting your surgery. As many drs have said, "if we waited for women to stop bleeding for this surgery, some may NEVER be able to have it".

Wow, you have alot on your plate right now. But at least you can put your mind at ease about one thing: if your doctor recommends a hyst, and if you decide that is the right option for you, I'm pretty sure that most doctors can do the surgery while you are menstruating. I was when I had my surgery. A lot of us are bleeding. I mean, that's why we are having the surgery to begin with - uncontrolled bleeding! So don't worry about that. Hope everything else works out as well for you.

Naw, they don't seem to care - that's why you're there. There isn't anything they haven't seen before.
Mine put me on a low dose birth control pill to make me stop but I was loosing more blood than I was making. Had to have some left over for surgery
