My castle story

Here's my story:

Tuesday 6:30 AM: Arrive at castle and check in. Nurses seem busy and understaffed, I don't talk to anyone until 7 AM

7AM: Nurse asks some questions and starts my IV. Iv doesn't work.

7:20 AM Anesthesiologist arrives and we talk about spinal vs general. I choose spinal. He starts my IV

7:30 AM Hubby comes back to be with me

7:35 Am Doc pokes his head in and asks if I am ready. I promptly He tells me he has that affect on women, they either cry or faint when the see him

7:40 AM into OR, get something in my IV that makes me dizzy and that is the last I know

10AM Anesthesiologist telling me it is all done, I hear doc and resident discussing something, how to suture, I think. I lay there thinking this is very interesting and why can't I feel my legs?

10:15 AM Doc comes over and says everything went well and looks good.

Off to recovery for an hour or so and then to my room at noon. A little confusion over pain management. Nurses didn't think I could have both the meds at the same time. Demerol was suppossed to be every three hours as needed, but they would only give every six hours. Luckily next shift got the order right and I was pain free.

Wednesday AM. Up and walking feeling good.

12 Noon: Doc comes in, removes packing. THat is more painful than anythng so far Doc says after lunch and peeing, I can go home!

Home by 3 PM. Feel good but tired.

Finally agree that waiting is the worst part!
