I have a question about pain (pre-surgery, adenomyosis)

My doctor believes I have adenomyosis based on pain, bleeding and clotting. An ultrasound showed my uterus was enlarged, I go for an endometrial biopsy on Wednesday. My question is, I am having some fairly serious pain for the second day. I have experienced this pain before, attributed it to bowel problems and was treated accordingly (ER trip, serious intestinal grenade). Now I wonder if it is uterine related. If I lie on my back, I can palpatate my uterus (just like when I was pregnant), the top is about an inch below my navel. There is pain with most movement, internal and external, extremely similar to post Caesarian pain. I am not eating anything, so I don't have to deal with food trying to move through my abdomen.

I am not in tears, if I sit still I am mostly ok. I will see my gyno in two days. Question: Should I call him anyways? Has anyone else had this?

Thanks!

Tracy

Yes I had that and the pain was pretty excruciating. My Dr. had to give me some vicodin. I was in pain for several days.

You may have adhesions (scar tissue) from your previous c-sections.

You're the best judge of whether or not you need to be seen prior to Wednesday... I hope things get better for you, but if they don't, please don't wait until your appointment.

My recommendation is to call and speak to your MD's nurse. She will tell you if you need to be seen sooner, or if MD will call in pain med. There is absolutely no good reason to sit around and be in severe pain for 2 more days. Take care of yourself, and insist that others do the same. I am a nurse, and everyone that I know would do their best to get your pain resolved ASAP!!! Good luck!
