pre-op List ??

i was just reading through some of the pre-op hints and it mentioned a list of things to be avoided right before surgery ...i wasnt given a list ...can anybody tell me what medications ...foods ...vitamins , etc i should be avoiding ..or is this list published some where ..i got concerned because it mentioned vitamins ...i did have to give a list of all my medications to the pre-op nurse but i never mentioned what vitamins i was taking...thanks in advance for your help

I haven't looked at the article lists on the main page lately. All I remember from a previou surgery not to take aspirin or aspirin products for 10 days prior to surgery because they thin the blood. I was never told anything about vitamins.

I was told to avoid vitamin E before surgery. I think it thins the blood some.

my surgeon told me to stop my hrt 7 days prior to surgery. she also told me if i was taking any herbal rememdies to stop them also.

i was told i couldn't take aspirin or aspirin products, vitamins, herbs, caffeine, or alcohol. so i have been living on tylenol and tylenol pm ( to help me sleep).

also was told can't take midol, pamprin, or anything like that...

good luck i am 3 days from op and nervous as everything.....
