17 days to go

I would just like to say a big thank you to this site. I was terrified a month or so ago. TAH/BSO 16 August. Endometriosis. I felt a great amount of guilt, doubt and fear. I was struggling at work with pain and my head was in a pickle, in tears most of the time.

I'm now off work until it's all over, which has allowed me time to work through my feelings. The pain doesn't feel so bad as I am now resting more. I do not feel guilty and I have no doubt about this being the right course take. All I am afraid of is the physical act of the op. which is totally normal.

I am not looking at what I'm loosing, but of what I will be gaining, my quality of life, which is priceless. Although I will never give birth, which I have cried over many times. I am looking at the direction my life will take, and using this as an opportunity to make changes.

I'm sure I will be up and down, before and after the op. But I would just like to say that I feel as though I've moved forward a great deal and this isn't quite the abyss I was staring into a while back. Reading all your posts has made me feel I am not alone, and it's been a great reassurance.

I wish you all, peace of mind, this can be a rocky road to travel.

Hi Clara,

I am very glad you found solace here on the boards. I love this site too. It sounds like you have reconciled many issues in your life and dealt with the pre-emotions of the hyst. This is a very good start.

Emotions are funny things, they seem to blindside you when your not looking. Just don't get down on yourself if a few unexpected cries pop up.

The physical aspect of any surgery is scarey and I am very glad that you acknowledge this to be normal. Keep doing the research and reading the posts. I found that the more info I collected the less scarey the procedure became. In fact, by the time I went to the hospital I didn't care what they did as long as they did it fast. I just wanted the whole thing over with.
Hang in there , waiting is torture but you'll make it.

Hugs & Prayers,
