Re: 3 weeks post hysterectomy: Any stomach sleepers?

I started sleeping on my stomach about a week and a half after surgery. I have back issues and sleeping on my back was killing me. I DID however stack several pillows behind my back so that I was sort of sitting up. I slept better that way than flat on my back. When I went back to sleeping on my stomach I put a pillow under one leg. *Note: I sleep sort of half on stomach and half on side. Having the pillow under one leg helped me to not be directly on my stomach. It kept some of the pressure off. Slept like a baby that first night! I hope that helps.

Hi
I'm also a stomach or right side sleeper (I snore on left and sleep apnea so no back) I've inadvertently rolled on to my stomach while sleeping and wake up achy the next morning. (4 weeks post op, partial)

Looks like we are in the same boat. I did manage to sleep on my back for the last 3 weeks by stacking pillows and pillows behind me so I was above a 30% angle which is what my dr. told me to sleep at if I was on my back.
I have not tried sleeping on my stomach. I can sleep on my right side for the most part, but not the left quite yet. Is that weird!?

I've never been a snorer. I wake up with a horrible dry mouth too.
Do you think it's safe to go back to my stomach!? I already went back to work and keep forgetting to call my Doctor while I'm at work. I'm still a bit sore and still spotting.
Try it and see if you're comfortable. Me.... I cant do it yet and im week 4, other sisters habe reported they can as early as week 1. It feels weird and makes my insides a little tender the next day. Ooohh i long for the night i can just sleep on my sides even. I keep 1/2 pitcher of water on bedside to fight the dry mouth. Also help eliminate "hog cslling" (snoring).

Baby steps honey....good luck

I woke up on my stomach a few times when I'm tossing and turning. My chiropractor said not to sleep on stomach. I try to stay off of it to help my back.

Re: 3 weeks post hysterectomy: Any stomach sleepers? UPDATED

I wasn't able to do it until after the 5-week mark (last week), and i only woke up like 2 or 3 times on my stomach... but I was so happy! This week (hit 6 weeks on Monday) I have been able to sleep that way with no soreness. YAY!

It's hard but you will get there

I am happy to say I can sleep on my side and my stomach now. Every now and then I get a bit of discomfort, but a pillow strategically places solves the issue. I am a happy girl!!!!

It took me awhile to get back on my tummy for sleeping. Rolling over and back hurt and being on my tummy hurt but eventually I was just naturally doing it and the pain wasn't waking me up when I did so I think just be patient and give it time and the real sleep will come eventually. /hugs.

I FINALLY got a good nights sleep last night! I threw all the extra pillows aside and slept on my stomach and it was GLORIOUS!!
