I divorced my uterus, ovaries and cervix on Dec 5, 2011 and good riddance to them!
I'm returning to work today which is emotionally harsh as my husband was just laid off from there after 12 years at the end of February. We work at the same place. My doctor has me on gradual return hours. It's call center work. I refer to it as white collar sweatshop.
Sex is fantastic! I don't need lube! I cannot remember the last time I wanted sex this much and enjoyed it so much! (sorry for being blunt but it's worth celebrating
)
I've lost over 20lbs without trying. I just don't crave like I use to. No binging. I'm on 1mg estrace/day. No sweats or insomnia. Having some issues with bowel movements. Eating a lot of activia and psyllium. (I crave that) I need to use the metamucil my daughter, a nurse, got me. It works great. (which is why I wonder why I haven't used it more)
I do have bladder spasms and cramps near my pelvic bone. I had an adhesion that ripped away from my bladder before the surgery and was leaking into my pelvis. The surgeon repaired it and said the spasms were from the scar tissue. I still have snags, pulls, twitches. I'm finally able to lay on my belly at times and on my side (oh how I missed that)
I am amazed at how our 'parts' can mess up our lives so immensely. I feel more like myself now than I have in years. It's like being released from a prison. I'm thriving after my 'divorce'
I know not all my sisters are having as great a recovery as I am and my heart goes out to you. I strongly believe women should have way more than 6 weeks before returning to work. Recovery takes longer.
I love you all.
