8 wks out of TAH; sharp pain suddenly

Hello everyone! I have been absent for a week or two trying to get back in the swing of work! I am 8 weeks out of a TAH. i have had a wonderful recovery. I feel better than I have in years. I am having some new pain though! This may be my own fault (from some heavy lifting in lawn work), but I have sharp pain in and around the incision area. Everything looks fine... no bruising or bleeding... but I am so sore. My skin hurts to the touch. I have pain in the area where I would have ovaries if I still had some! Any thoughts?

I am 11 wks out. I too have had sharp pains under my incision and my skin hurts to touch at times. I have a doctor's appt in the next hour and I will let you know what he has to say.

I'm 8 weeks out this week too, and just today started having sharp pains just to the right and left of my navel!
Thought maybe it was gas pains, but now I'm wondering what's going on with this? I was feeling really really good. How odd that you are experiencing this too!

I told you that I would let you know what the doctor said at my appointment on 8/12/08. He said that it is normal for me to have this healing pain around my incision. The pain for me is in a cresent moon shape across the incision area. He says it takes time for all those layers of tissue to heal. He suggested anti-inflamitory medicine for 2 to 3 wks. He said that soaking in a warm bath would help or whorl-pool bath(which I don't have)a heating pad could help too. He told me don't do anything to aggrevate it and call him in 3 wks to let him know how I am doing.

Thanks so much for your reply. I wondered how your appt went. Sounds like all is on track. Thanks for sharing this info. I love that we have this site to all recover together. My DH has just blown it off and said "yeah, I'm tired and sore too." Oh, if he only knew. ha! Thanks again!
