Worried about adhesions

Hi sisters,
I walked about 6 miles today and got a little tired out. I have been feeling pain on my left side where my ovary used to be but assume this is just part of the healing process. However, now I am worried that I could have adhesions. My post op appointment is 1/6. Can anyone offer advice for what I can do in the meantime?
Thanks!

Re: Worried about adhesions

Since you asked, what you can do in the meantime is stop walking six miles at once when you're barely 2 weeks post op. That is, imho, too much too soon in your recovery. Pain is your body's way of telling you you're overdoing it.

Not everyone is prone to adhesion formation. Taking Celebrex (rx only, talk with your DR) and making sure all your movements are smooth and fluid and you don't lift too much too soon can help minimize adhesion formation. But above all, slow down and give yourself time to heal properly.

(((hugs))),

Re: Worried about adhesions

Thanks for replying to my post Surferbabe! I read that walking is good, "as much as your body will let you". I have been taking 2-3 mile walks since day 4. Before the surgery I used to run 4-5 miles 4 times a week. So, I didn't think going a little further on my walk would be a big deal. I hope I didn't do serious damage.
