Low Cervix

I am 27 years old and have had 6 children (including 2 sets of twins, one of which I was a surrogate mother for)m, we are done, lol... Since having my last baby (Dec 2013) my cervix has dropped greatly (about 1-1.5 knuckles deep, and is so low I can't even insert a tampon, let alone have relations with hubby) I went to see my Ob/Gyn who labeled it uterine prolapse and recommended kegels to see if it would move up at all though he was sure to add that he didn't think it would due to the scar tissue from 3 csecs. He sched a followup for 3 months, after which everything was still the same. He then sent me a urogyncologist. This doctor barely addressed this issue and instead focused on a rectocele that resulted from a previous surgery I had. He told me that my uterus was retroverted (always was) and that this as well was affecting the position of my cervix. He told me that there was nothing he could really do and gave me a referral to PT for the rectocele. I made sure to tell him I didn't have any problems (at least yet) with the rectocele but that my problem was with my cervix. My Ob mentioned doing a hysterectomy to which I immediately said no, when i asked the specialist what his opinion was about this option he said it would most likely be my only option since my uterus is "fixed" into place by all the scar tissue and that removing it would allow my cervix to move up again. Any thoughts, experiences?

Re: Low Cervix

Dear 4Amores:

It's my understanding that with the prolapsed or low cervix, you will also have a low uterus. Perhaps you are a candidate to use a pessary while you try to figure out what is the best treatment option for you.

I hope you are able to find the right answers soon. I am sending huge cyberhugs
