Back to work tomorrow... : (

I am heading back to work in the morning....3 1/2 weeks since surgery...I do have a desk job but my main concern is sitting up in a chair all day....My doctor wanted me to take a month off..but work gave me trouble so I have to go back sooner than I hoped...
Thinking I will only work 4-6 hours the first couple of days...

Can you're work legally make you go back? I was supposed to start back tomorrow but my doctor said no way. My work didn't say a word but legally I can be off up to 6 weeks for a hysterectomy.

Re: Back to work tomorrow... : (

Well my problem is my job is not protected any longer if I take any more time off....I had thyroid cancer 18 months ago and used all my protected time....so it's best if I go back tomorrow....wishing things were different..but just have to roll with it all...

Just FYI FMLA protects you for 12 weeks in a 12 month period. But that protects your employment not sure if it protects a specific position.

Have positive thoughts. I had my LSH on December 26 and went back to teaching on January 7th. It was tough but everyday gets alittle better. Just make sure to come home and rest. I went straight to bed or the couch as soon as I got home. You'll be great. 😃

Hope it went well for you slk63.

I go back tomorrow afternoon/eve for 5 or 6 hrs of relatively easy work. Am not looking fwd to it as it will only be day 10. But you do what you have to do, huh? And then I'll get Tuesday completely off.
Hang in there.
