Lumps around incisions from LSH

I am 3 weeks post op today and am feeling really good. I know that I have been doing too much activity because I feel so well. The question I have is...I have a lump just under my 2 incisions on my belly. They are the size of a quarter. They only bother me at the end of the day or if I do too much activity. Does anyone have these lumps. It feels like a hernia type lump.

Lump just under my 2 incisions on my belly - anyone else?

I had a similar lump 2 weeks postop -- scared the heck out of me, so I went to my doctor. It turned out to be a hematoma ("goose egg") that can be caused by too much activitity, or even turning the wrong way.

Like I said, I was scared; I thought maybe I had popped an internal stitch, or perhaps developed a hernia. Definitely see your doctor to rule those things out.

It takes time for a hematoma to be absorbed by the body, and during that time my body has gone a glorious technicolor bruising as the blood is dissipated and the lump goes away. And it definitely takes its sweet time to do that.

Let us know how it goes.

It could be a hemotoma or could be the formation of scar tissue forming..which usually forms first right under the incision and is common. If it starts to cause pain then call your doctor just to be sure it's not a hernia! I have an incision from hip to hip and right on the left side there are huge bumps up to about an inch....I'm pretty sure it's the scar tissue. It's not sensitive to touch so.....Anyway, take care.
