Preop on Monday, Surgery Wednesday and everyone in my house is sick (kids mentioned)

OMG I am so nervous about having to cancel my surgery. Everyone has just up and popped up with colds. I have very slight sniffles and sneeze a few times during the day but everyone else is like stopped up, coughing goopy messes. My 7 year old is a walking germ right now. I am taking vitamins, eating grapefuits washing my hands like crazy but I need to get rid of these sniffles. I have preop monday and I know they will be checking! HELP!! How do I get better and quickly? The next open surgical date is not til almost APRIL!

I had a cold for my surgery too. It was almost done. I took a lot of chewable Vitamin C. I drank Sambazon Acai (it is loaded with antioxidants). I had chamomile tea with cinnamon(it has anti-viral properties) and honey (it has anti-bacterial properties). I was washing my hands like crazy and using sanitizing wipes on commonly touched objects around the house. All in all, my surgery did not get delayed. Good luck and get well soon!

No one told me that and I told them I had taken it before surgery. It is in grapefruits and juice and all sorts of things... It seems silly that they would tell you not to take it. If your doctor/surgeon, their nurses, or their pre-op papers said not to take Vitamin C, don't take it. Otherwise, of coarse you can have Vitamin C! It's good for you! Just be careful not to have to much Vitamin C.
