Hi everyone,
Last Wednesday at my appointment for them to read my u/s it was decided that I was to have a TAH on 2/27. Today I had my pre-op.
Thank you for these boards. I came in there with tons of questions and my asst. surgeon has heard of this site!
I have 2 fibroids each 6 cm. One at the top of my uterus one on the bottom.
They aren't expecting any problems with the surgery. None.
I will get my I.V. started by the "A" guy and the catheter will be put in after I'm under. The time is 7 a.m. and hubby will be calling everyone, hopefully before 10 a.m.!
Being military is interesting from getting the blood work, having to pee in a cup, so they can run a pregnancy test, yeah, I said that, to waiting and waiting for this yucky tasting stuff to make me "clean my bowels" out!
The surgeons are confident and they are super nice and answered every single question and concern. There was one though that they couldn't answer.
What kinda of cut? Once I'm out they will have to see if my uterus has adhesions, if so, it will be vertical, otherwise, it will be horizontal. Nope, no tummy tuck, as it's not recommended because of complications and infections are higher. Oh well, hubby says that's okay, he loves me the way I am.
I just have to get over the hurdle of saying good-bye to my girlies in the morning before we leave. That will be the hardest thing I will do through this whole time.
Thank you again for creating this site and maintaining. It's a wonderful place to get information! Where else would I learn to ask if I can bring my own pillow?
See y'all on the
side!
Sara
