3 days post op and doing well

Hi All,

I had my TAH on Tuesday and was discharged this morning. I am feeling surprisingly well. Thought I would be much sorer. Very happy about this. The area around incision feels numb. Incision itself looks clean and well-stitched. I've been wearing the belly binder they gave me at the hospital, which helps a lot.

My biggest complaint is that hospital care has a long way to come to being about healing in addition to treatment. The staff were so impersonal it was almost laughable. And the food was really not healthy at all. Rice Crispies for breakfast?! Yoghurt sweetened with aspartame?! My friend brought me fresh juiced vegetables and homemade muesili instead!

Hope all my hyster sisters are doing well tonight too.

Peace.

Hi Cucumbers
Welcome to post op! I'm glad you're doing so well. Rest now, drink your water and walk as you feel up to it. Let us know if we can help with anything.
When you get a chance it will help us help you if you can add your surgery date and info to your profile. That way others can see if they have the same type surgery. It helps to know if you have kept your ovaries or not too.
I hope your recovery goes smoothly.
's, Rita

Click on "control panel" above, then click on "edit profile". You might want to add some info in your signature as well....just click "edit signature" to do so.

Glad to hear you're doing well. I had a horrendous stay in the hospital myself, but it had nothing to do with my immediate caregivers. I had a nice looong chat with the customer service manager afterwards at any rate.

I think I wore my binder three weeks....isn't it great?! Remember to REST, drink water, and walk as you can.

Be well,
Diane
