How good is this?!

I had to post, dear LIW!

I came on-line today and saw so many fearful posts. I am almost 4 months post-op and can say that I'm 98% well. I get the odd twinge, and experience swelly belly from time to time, but life is very, very good.

Stay brave and strong, my sisters. Health is not far away.

How good is this?!

Cecee,

Thank you for the vote of confinence about feeling healthy. I am almost 10 weeks, and the pelvic pain has almost gone away. My main problem now is the fatigue.

How good is this?!

Hey, Punkie!

I remember that fatigue. It does go away, but it takes awhile. It is so important to listen to your body and give yourself permission to heal for as long as that takes.

It eventually gets better, though. In my case, it was so gradual that I didn't really realize that I was well until one day when I had put in a full day at work, went dancing and still felt like I had more in me.

Your day WILL come, Punkie!

Jennifer: There is much controversy these days about HRT. The sisters in the Hormone Jungle have valuable information to offer - their own experiences and their research. If you haven't gone there yet, please do. I'm certain that it will help you in making some tough decisions. I wish you well, dear sister.

How good is this?!

Cecee~
I am right there with ya....i am just over the 4 mth mark since my surgery and I never thought i would feel this good. It was well worth it!

Jennifer1975~
I felt the same way you do about the HRT post op. I am now on Vivelle Dot 0.1 patch and doing very well on it. Do your research and know alot of us here have found perscription HRT works best but on the flip side, alot have found herbs and other preparations are better for them. It is a personal decision whatever you are comfortable with and what works for you.
Stay in touch with your doctors and us too. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Very good info and support here. There is also the pull down menus on the home page that may help too.

Best wishes,

Punkie~Yes, it does get better!

How good is this?!

I had my surgery not long after Cecee and she is so right! You will all get through this and you will feel so much better when it's all over with I was a nervous wreck for 6 months before I finally became a princess....now I've been a princess for 3 months! Time flies and before you know it, you will be on the post-op side feeling great!

LIW

Oh Ladies! I haven't been on to post in a few weeks, but I decided to stop by and let everyone know how great I was feeling. Once I got here though, I notice that the thread has already been started. Great minds think alike.

I am almost 4 months post op too. And I feel wonderful! No pain other than some surface discomfort when I touch the incision. The reason I haven't been on to post is BECAUSE I'm feeling so great! I am too busy cleaning out my garden for winter, getting the yard in shape, doing spring cleaning that I wasn't able to do, and working full time. And I still have some energy left over!

The hormones are not the greatest, but I can live with it. I noticed a great decrease in backaches too, which was an unexpected bonus. I have put on some weight, but a lot of that is probably because I quit smoking too. In all, I would do it again in a flash.
