Probably a dumb question...

I'm really getting a lot out of this website. Thank you so much everyone for sharing your experiences for I'm waiting to have surgery on 9/23. My question is can someone explain the acronyms you're using, ie. "TAH", "TVH". Are these total hysts, partial, etc. Also, I noticed everyone using "DH" as you refer to husbands. Just trying to understand the jargon so I can be on board. :-)

As most sisters here will tell you, no question is a dumb question! I too, didn't quite know, but I looked up the FAQ's for this site, and all the abbreviations are listed there. TAH is "total abdominal hysterectomy"..TVH is "total vaginal hysterctomy". If and "L" is in front, it means laproscopically, or laproscopically assited hysterectomy. Dh is dear husband, ds-dear son, dd-dear daughter, etc. Hope that helps!
