Bladder surgery, catheter, stents, and bloody urine

Well as a result of a hole in my bladder post davinci hyster, I came out of a second surgery with a cath for 2 weeks and stents in my ureters for 6-8 weeks. So my urine was very bloody fir the first week .. Dr said it will be blood tainted until the stents come out. Well, the past few days it was starting to clear up and get back to normal color. But after overdoing it yesterday it is back to being a little pink again :-(. So I guess the stents will always irritate the ureters and cause this color. UCK !! anyone else in this boat??? Is so frustrating...

Re: Bladder surgery, catheter, stents, and bloody urine

I have had one stent for ureter damage in for 12 days so far. It was needed because they burned the ureter during surgery. The catheter was removed 5 days ago. I don't seem to notice any blood now. I do have some pain in my back since it has been in. Since you have 2 stents that may be why you are having a little blood. I would keep an eye on it and if it gets worse call your Dr.
