embarrassing question

Anyway I have been referred for a vag. hysterectomy but my question is how does this affect the vagina in the upcoming weeks/months after surgery? In other words is it going to change size or shape? How does this affect intercourse down the road? My biggest concern is this. Thanks. Stacy

Don't be embarrassed about asking that question, I'm curious to know the answer myself. My girlfriend had a LAVH last year, and she said that she is a "nympho", she can't get enough. I have no idea how her husband feels. I think the only one who could answer that question is a man. Let me know when you find out. LadyJ12NV

I've had this same question/concern....after I've had my TVH and am cleared for intimacy, I'll have my husband give me his opinion and I'll post his thougths....

I am also new here (as of today!) so you are not alone in your questions. Along with yours, I'm wondering if the hysterectomy will cause vaginal dryness?

I had a vaginal hysterectomy, it didn't change the size, length, look, tightness of my vagina at all. I have asked my hubby numerous times about it. He has pretty much inspected it from every angle...lol. He says its just like before!
Same for sex, just like before except no more condoms!!!

That was one of my concerns as well before my vaginal hysterectomy, but my husband was not able to tell any difference at all in the size or shape. I did have some dryness for a while, but things in that area seem to be working just fine now.

I'm 5 days post-op, I had a TVH. I was just reviewing some of the links and I came across information on the vaginal cuff which explained the shortening/size questions you are concern about. I suppose I'll have to rely on my husband to let me know if my vaginal cuff feels shorter, longer or the same. To tell the truth, I'm not looking forward to the whole sexual encounter. Scared.

I'm always a little surprised when I see a post that says "this is my biggest concern" and it's about sex. I know it's a concern for many women but I had so many other questions that seemed much more important to my health. Maybe I'm with the wrong partner,lol.
