Freaking out.

I'm freaking out today and everyone telling me to be calm and not worry. Yeah right.
I had high bp last week at my pre op and had to check it everyday until yesterday and it was good.
I told my dr.'s nurse yesterday that over the weekend my left calf was swollen at night and felt tight.
She talked to the dr. and she told me to come into the clinic this morning and have a ultrasound on my calf.
They were worrried that I might have a clot there.
I went in this morning with my calf swollen and it hurt.
There wasn't any clots and I was put on a what they call a water pill for a few days.
I have to go in on Friday for some blood work .
I worked tonight and everyone was asking me when my surgery is again and that was making me really think about it.
I really don't like this waiting.

Thanks for listening to me .

Freaking out.

Lisa,

Waiting is very wearing on our nerves and psyche as well. It can make us think strange things and our body do strange things..
I'm praying for you!

Freaking out.

Thank you and know that I should try and calm down but the people that work with don't understand what I'm going to go through or what I'm going through right now.
Some of them think that this isn't a major surgery that I'm going to have .
I'm having a TAH and get to keep my ovaries.
I try and tell them it is major surgery and that I'm going to be laid up for awhile and they think I should be back soon after my surgery.

Freaking out.

Hi, Lisa,

Before my surgery, weeks before, it seemed, it was all I could think about. I think it's only natural to worry, because we don't really know what waits for us on the other side. It's true, I think, that our bodies can do strange things under stress, and this, being major surgery, can certainly cause that.
Do you have anyone you can talk to? I found that, even though all my fears kept repeating inside my head, it helped to come here and talk, or to find friends that were supportive.

Please keep us posted on how things are going.

I will keep you in my thoughts, and hope that all goes well for you.

Hugs,

Debbie

Lisa,

It's very obvious these people really don't know what they are talking about. You NEED to be off of work till your Dr. gives you the green light. Please try not to listen to them so much, it's just going to make you feel worse. They are selling it cheap and you are buying it. Don't let them do this to you! Become the window shopper, duck your head and let it roll off of your shoulders.
Be assured in the choice you have made and rest in the knowledge that it's right for you.

Huggz and ers across the miles.

Freaking out.

Lisa,
It is very nerve racking before surgery. I was there six weeks ago. I would get so teary eyed just thinking about having surgery and it was all I could think about.
No matter what anyone said to me I would still be so worried. Although hearing from others that had gone through it especially on this site made me feel better.
I hope knowing that we were all in your shoes and know how you feel helps. It really isn't as bad as our minds make it out to be.
It will all be over with before you know it and you will be on your road to recovery with the rest of us.

The best of luck to you and you will be in my thoughts.
Let us know how you are doing.

Freaking out.

Lisa, I didn't realise how worried I was about everything until after surgery.

My BP was up at my doctors office and I also kept an eye on it. It was ok but, was up again at the pre-op. Just nerves, I was worried I would forgot to tell them something important even though I had written my hystory down. So, when I was asked questions, my BP went up. I left a chart of my BP with the nurse at pre-op and my hystory I had done as well. I was on Lupron at the time and it was gently frying my brain. During my stay in the castle, my BP was just fine.

Our body does strange things when nerves get the better of us. Try and take time to do things that relax you and as said already, talk to someone if you can. That will also help a great deal. I let them know at pre-op that I was worried and it made the differance.

As for those who don't get it, stick with those that do and hold your ground on not being pushed into doing anything post-op you shouldn't.

Take caew and take heart, your not alone.
