Bleeding two weeks after hysterectomy?

Monday I will be two weeks post op. Week one was a bit hard between pain, gas and constipation I was not a happy camper. Week two hasn't been too bad, I did over do it one day (drove) and paid that price (was a bit sore later) but over all it went ok. Now at the end of week two I've noticed some bleeding (not much and it was only noticed when I wiped after going to the bathroom).

Is this light bleeding normal? Will it get worse (it's not even enough that I need a pad and only seen a few times when I wipe not every time)? I'm sure I sound paranoid but since I only spotted one day after surgery I wasn't expecting blood now.

Next week is my two week post op and I'm actual anxious to go. Nurse called told labs came back benign (good) uterus was bigger than they expected though. I told her were the incisions were it's like hard little bumps she said those will fade after time?? Should've asked how long. Anyone else have hard bumps?

Re: Bleeding?

Hi...I had my LAVH on 9/2, so you're right behind me. I experienced everything you have. I had my two week post op and the doc said the sporadic spotting is normal and should become less frequent. It already has, I haven't spotted at all in two days. And my incisions were like little hard nodules too, but they are softening more every day. I put Mederma scar cream on them and that is helping. You are doing just fine and every day will get better. I feel really good today! Invest in taking it easy when you need to, and listen to your body as you gradually feel like you are ready to be more active. I try to think of each day as a building block toward feeling 100% at my 6 weeks. Be good to yourself, this will all be behind us soon.

Re: Bleeding?

I had bleeding or discharge off and on for 6 weeks. The amount increased during weeks 3 and 4 when stitches were dissolving. Your bleeding may not return or you may have an increase; we are all very different. If it worries you, please call your doctor. Certainly if you bleed enough to fill a pad in an hour go get help immediately. I never needed more than a panty liner, and usually didn't even need that. I used silicone sheets on my incisions (with my doc's approval), and the right one is almost invisible. The left one is slightly pink, but I can no longer feel it. I have to look in the mirror to find it. I can feel the one in my belly button with my finger, and it took the longest to heal.
