I think I messed up!

When I left the Doc on Fri. I was pretty sure I left informed and sure of what was going to happen. After I have been reading this site I realize I know very little. I obviously should have asked more questions. I don't know if my cervix is going to be removed, I have no idea if my appendix is going to be there! Will I have one of those bladder things!? I am freaking out, how could I have been so unprepared for the Dr. visit. What do I do now my Doc is 120 miles away it's not like I can just make a quick appt and run in with my questions. Oh JeeZ

I think I messed up!

Hi. I think your probably more informed than you think you are. Something I've noticed since surfing this board is that most of these ladies have been through a lot......a lot! Just because some of them have had certain surgeries doesn't mean all of us will.

Tomorrow morning just call your doc's office and ask to speak with the pre-op nurse. She'll probably be able to answer most of your questions and will actually have more time to do it.

This site has been a blessing and an eye opener!

Well, I don't think it is very usual for the appendix to be removed. I've only read about it a few times. You shouldn't be having anything done with your bladder unless you've been having troubles and then your Dr. would probably have discussed that with you too. Don't know about the cervix, you'll have to as your Dr that one. Might be a good idea to call with your questions since it is so far for you to go back in.

You didn't mess up! You are so lucky to have found this site before your surgery. I didn't stumble onto HS until after mine when I was frantically trying to learn about surgical menopause and hormones.......I had no clue!! Just make a list of questions and give your doctor a call. s
